As 2010 came to a close, the situation in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) was characterized by regular exposure of large segments of the population to violence, harsh restrictions on access and movement, and persistent human rights violations. There was more a 60 percent increase in Palestinian injuries from 2009 to 2010. Number of persons affected by demolitions more than tripled in 2010. The 2010 olive harvest fell below annual average. In Gaza, there were increases in wheat imports, aggregates for humanitarian organizations. A new pipeline was installed under the Egypt-Gaza border. Exports from Gaza remain limited to strawberries and cut flowers. 1.4 million Palestinians continue to live in food insecurity.
