The new year began with some positive developments, including Israel?s partial transfer of clearance revenues to the PA, the ending of the four-month strike by PA employees and Israel?s announcement that it would ease internal closures in the West Bank. HHowever, internal violence in the Gaza Strip soared, Israel demolished a high number of Palestinian homes in the West Bank and movement restrictions on internal movement within the West Bank remain tight.
