Israeli forces kill two Palestinian policemen in the Gaza Strip, and injure over 30 Palestinians throughout the oPt. In the West Bank, no demolitions or demolition orders; seizure and confiscation of Palestinian property continue. Barrier checkpoint, Ras Khamis, sealed off, negatively affecting access for thousands of Palestinians. In Gaza, one worker killed and another injured in tunnel collapse. Long power cuts continue; a child killed in an electricity-related incident. Seven truckloads of date bars exited Gaza to the West Bank.

Number of Palestinians injured by Israeli forces (40) this week remains below 2012 weekly average. Eight Palestinians injured by Israeli settlers. No demolitions in the West Bank, but issuance of demolition orders continues. Significant drop in amount of fuel arriving through tunnels for Gaza Power Plant, forces the shut down of one of the three operational turbines. Gaza court sentences two men to death on the charge of collaboration with Israel.

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza killed six Palestinians militants and injured six others, including four civilians; Palestinians fired rockets at southern Israel.
In the West Bank, at least 65 Palestinian demonstrators were injured in clashes with the Palestinian police in the context of widespread protests against increases in the price of basic goods.

Protection of Civilians Weekly Report | 29 August - 4 September 2012
Significant decrease in Palestinians injured by Israeli forces this week. Thirty-two Palestinian civilians, including 14 children, displaced due to the Israeli authorities demolition of Area C structures. Two settlement outposts evacuated by Israeli forces following a court ruling. Twelve Palestinians, including a child, were accidentally injured, and a number of residential buildings sustained damage, as a result of misuse of weapons in the Gaza Strip. Rafah Crossing re-opens in both directions. Fuel shortages continue, along with regular power cuts.
